Long-time Hillary Admirers Seek Jobs at State Department

It’s revelatory of Hillary Clinton’s character that so many former staffers from her Senate office, her presidential campaign, and her HillPac political action committee are now vigorously competing for jobs at the State Department.

Weeding out the several catty remarks included by Amie Parnes at Politico, you come to this testimonial:

“Of course, a lot of people are applying to work for her. Not only is she an inspiring role model to so many of us, but she is going to be an incredible secretary of state. People want to be a part of that experience,” said Adrienne Elrod, chief of staff to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) and a former Clinton campaign aide.

Parnes notes: “Sources familiar with the vetting process say Clinton is playing a role in the decisions and wants to keep some familiar faces around.”

Tell the DNC Michigan and Florida Voters Count

Just got this note from Maggie Williams. Please follow the link to support the voters in Michigan and Florida.

Dear Virginia,

Thank you so much for sending your message to the DNC. The voters of Florida and Michigan are depending on us to help them make sure they have a voice in this race, and your action is going to make a difference for them -- and for Hillary.

If you haven't already, please take a moment to forward this message on to your friends, and urge them to join you in standing up for Florida and Michigan voters. Tell them to visit our website and send their own message to the DNC today.

Again, thank you.

Still Leading Obama in Delegates, Clinton Beefs Up Her Campaign

Despite Barack Obama’s recent wins, CNN calculates this morning that Hillary Clinton still maintains a 27-delegate lead over Obama, 1,148 to 1,121. CNN includes an ongoing tally of superdelegates in their count.

To beef up her campaign, Clinton raised more than $10 million in the past few days, and she recently brought in longtime aide Maggie Williams to replace Patti Solis Doyle as campaign manager. Solis Doyle will stay on as as a senior advisor to the campaign.
