Elizabeth Warren thanks Bill Clinton

Elizabeth Warren earned my respect the day she first set foot on the national stage with her work in establishing the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The U.S. senator- elect for the state of Massachusetts demonstrates a strength of character too often missing in American politics. For one thing, Warren deftly sidesteps Rovian-influenced Dems who would like to see party leaders like the Clintons and Obamas at one another’s throats.

As a Warren supporter from the get-go, I continue to enjoy emails from her campaign headquarters. Most recently, she reminds us that in her efforts on behalf of the middle class, she’s following in the footsteps of Bill Clinton, and she invites us to join her in thanking him:

Virginia,

Bill Clinton made headlines for his political speeches this year, but it is his tireless work to improve people's lives and create opportunity that really inspires me.

He often says that hard work, intelligence, and ability are equally distributed -- but opportunity isn't. That's why the Clinton Foundation focuses on providing opportunity where President Clinton sees it lacking, both here in the United States and around the world.

The election is over, and there's a lot of work ahead. But while we have this moment to catch our breaths, can you join the Clinton Foundation and me in thanking Bill Clinton for his tremendous efforts to help hard-working families?

If you've heard me on the campaign trail, you know how hard I've been fighting for real investments in our future -- putting the conditions in place so that the next kid can get ahead, and the kid after that, and the kid after that.

Bill Clinton has spent his whole career fighting for the same thing.

Since leaving office, his foundation has helped provide access to life-saving HIV/AIDS medicine to over 4.5 million people. They've helped small business owners, smallholder farmers and entrepreneurs gain access to markets and investment capital to help their businesses flourish. They've helped our children have better schools, cleaner air and healthier nutrition so they all have the chance to succeed.

For nearly 40 years, Bill Clinton has continued to give a boost to people here in the United States and around the world to live their dreams.

I've told Bill Clinton personally how grateful I am for his leadership. Can you send him your own thanks today as well with a personal note?

Thank you for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

HRC as SoS Lures Hillary-Haters Out from Under Their Rocks

Taylor Marsh was a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton throughout the Democratic primary. After Clinton’s concession speech, Marsh followed the New York senator’s lead and jumped on the Obama bandwagon.

Marsh has been an Obama loyalist ever since; she even stooped to taking sexist shots at Sarah Palin, referring to her as a Barbie doll in one of her blog posts. In contrast, Clinton had the dignity and grace to disagree with Palin on the issues without attempting to destroy another female candidate for national office.

In today’s post titled The Clinton Foundation, and HRC as SoS, Marsh lets us know she’s not totally unconscious from overdosing on the faux progressive Kool-Aid that’s still being handed out by giddy Democrats spiked with the boosterism of our pathetic Obama-intoxicated media.

Marsh has noticed that since word leaked out that HRC was under consideration for secretary of state in the Obama Administration, Hillary-haters have been hastily crawling out from under their rocks across the land to spew their venom once again at all things Clinton.

Marsh writes:

“They're getting nervous now. The Hillary haters are frantic, going back, digging up links about WJC from a year ago, wondering how in the world she could possibly go to State since her former president husband has a foundation that aids the world. It pops up that maybe they could use Hillary's president husband as the last impediment to getting what she deserves on the world stage. However, it's not just about vetting. It's about conflict of interest if Hillary is chosen from secretary of state. That work being quite different from WJC's foundation, which cannot be linked. It's about crafting a way to get it done transparently, while separating their roles.

‘“Republicans, respect them or not, are talking about the possibility more sanely than certain males, those so called ‘leading’ progressives.

‘“The possibility of Mrs. Clinton’s nomination generated positive response on Sunday, even from across the aisle. ‘She is a lady of great intelligence, demonstrated enormous determination and would be an outstanding appointment,’ former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger told a forum in New Delhi, according to news services.

“This is the point where I get emails on Clinton being the anti-Christ. Additionally, many wanting HRC to stay in the Senate. Some worried this is another close, but not quite moment, wherein Hillary falls short because of judgments beyond her own merits to do the job.”
