Obama's former press secretary told to lie about the drone policy

Robert Gibbs, via luckybogey.wordpress.com.
It gets worse all the time: the lengths the ObamaWorld takes to protect its right to violate the boundaries of other nations with unmanned vehicles programmed to kill suspected enemies and any innocent civilians -even American citizens- who get in the way. Never mind the U.S. Constitution.  Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs now reveals that he was forbidden to acknowledge the existence of the drone program.

Here's the story:

Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday that he was told not to "acknowledge" or "discuss" the secret drone program when becoming the government's top spokesman.

Chris Hayes, host of MSNBC's "Up," played a video clip of Gibbs and current press secretary Jay Carney dodging questions about drones in the White House briefing room before asking if the Obama administration has been sufficiently forthcoming about the controversial targeted killing program. Gibbs, who recently became an MSNBC contributor, recalled the instructions he was given upon taking the job.

“When I went through the process of becoming press secretary," Gibbs said, "one of the things, one of the first things they told me was, ‘You’re not even to acknowledge the drone program. You’re not even to discuss that it exists.'”

The national media was slow covering the secret drone war in Pakistan and Yemen during Obama's first term, which has been difficult to track given both the government's secrecy and that strikes often take place in remote areas. But the drone media debate has gained steam early in Obama's second term, alongside questions for top counter-terror official John Brennan upon his nomination to become CIA director.

Gibbs said that once he figured out a reporter's question was about the drone program, "I realized I'm not supposed to talk about it."

Watch Secretary Clinton Question Dick Cheney’s Credibility (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post reports today:

Secretary Clinton testified today before Congress about President Obama's anti-terrorism strategy, saying the main goals are to prevent al-Qaida's resurgence in Afghanistan and to limit the progress of Islamic extremists in Pakistan.

The sensitive topic of the release of the torture memos came to the forefront when Republican Rep. Dana Rohrbacker asked Clinton if she agreed with Dick Cheney's request that documents ostensibly showing the efficacy of the torture programs should be declassified. Clinton ultimately replied that she believes "we ought to get to the bottom of this entire matter" and that it "is in the best interest of our country" to do so, but not before she took a shot at Cheney's credibility, saying "I don't consider him to be a particularly reliable source of information."

A must-watch video titled Leave Barack Alone is introduced as follows:

“What if Britney Spears' most notoriously emotional defender was a fan of Barack Obama too?

“Thanks to Slate (with voiceover by Christopher Beam), now we know. Leave Barack aloooonnnee!!!”

Clinton Campaign Statement on Father Pfleger’s Offensive Comments

Watching the videotape of Father Pfleger’s diatribe last Sunday against Hillary Clinton at Obama’s church, it’s apparent the congregation grooves with their guest preacher’s politicized sermon; they laugh boisterously, applaud, stand up, and shout approval.

Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, led until recently by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is where Barack and Michele Obama have been members for 20 years. The Democratic party’s presumptive nominee, rapidly approaching coronation, stepped out of that religious context to present himself as a post-racial candidate with the power to unite the nation.

Following this latest embarrassment by one of his religious mentors, Obama issued a lukewarm statement of regret for Pfleger’s outrageous performance from behind Trinity’s pulpit.

Not surprisingly, the Clinton campaign – probably still in shock from this latest demonstration of bad faith by Obama supporters – has deemed his apology inadequate:

Here’s the statement issued by Howard Wolfson, Clinton’s communication director:

"Divisive and hateful language like that is totally counterproductive in our efforts to bring our party together and has no place at the pulpit or in our politics. We are disappointed that Senator Obama didn't specifically reject Father Pflegler's despicable comments about Senator Clinton, and assume he will do so.”

In the run-up to the DNC Rules Committee meeting this Saturday and the party’s last three primaries, Obama and company has already been planning its strategy against John McCain in the general election.

Once again – and with good reason - Clinton supporters are shouting, “Not so fast!”

A New Video From Shut The Freud Up Productions

IndyRobin and GeekLove are pleased to announce their latest video from Shut The Freud Up Productions:

"DNC: Fractured Fairly Tales"

Their last video "Mad as Hell" was seen by over 165,000 people. It was written about in Salon (twice), Newsday, was mentioned by the New York Times, and was prominently featured on the front page of most blogs supportive of Hillary Clinton.

According to its creators, this video is different from the first, but equally important. "Mad As Hell" exposed the sexism in the MSM. "DNC: Fractured Fairly Tales" purports to expose the DNC for who they really are.

IndyRobin and GeekLove invite you to go directly to YouTube, watch the video, recommend it, rate it as your favorite video, and leave a comment.

Their goal is to help elect Hillary Rodham-Clinton as President of the United States: "She has never stopped working for us, so let's not stop working for her. "

P.S.

You are also invited to check out IndyRobin and GeekLove's new blog, Shut the Freud Up.

Just found a link to a video clip of Cynthia Ruccia and Kimberly Myers of Clinton Supporters Count Too on Fox’s Bill O’Reilly show last night. You can bet no one is going to tell those women to “sit down, shut up, and get with the program” any time soon. You can watch the video here.

Is Obama’s Use of His Middle Finger Presidential?

The first time I saw the video in question, I was struck by the intensity of Barack Obama’s anger as he spoke of the Philadelphia debate. I watched the debate the other day and as I noted in an earlier post, I was pleased to see him get a few tough questions for a change.

I know I’m not alone in my judgment that the video clearly shows Barack Obama crossing the line in his evident contempt for Hillary Clinton, a sitting United States Senator and former first lady. Bonnie Erbe at U.S. News & World Report, who titled her remarks, “Obama’s Wayward Finger,” raises the appropriate questions.

“This is one of those ‘video moments’, Erbe began, “on which I cannot take a position but also cannot let pass unnoticed. Dear reader, please go to the two following websites and decide for yourself. Is Sen. Barack Obama using his middle finger, while talking about Sen. Hillary Clinton, on purpose— or was it an accident?”

Erbe concludes:

“If Obama did this on purpose, it's a sign of incredible immaturity. If he did it by accident, it's a sign of inexperience. If a president were to make an accidental gesture like that while talking about a foreign leader, for example, it could cause a global uproar.”

There you have it: whether Obama did it on purpose or by accident, we should all be even more concerned about his readiness to assume the presidency of the United States.
