Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman concludes his column today with these words:
“In short, Mr. Obama’s chances of leading a new New Deal depend largely on whether his short-run economic plans are sufficiently bold. Progressives can only hope that he has the necessary audacity.”
As indicated in this video, Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine, would argue that any such hope would be misplaced.
And considering Obama’s lunge to the center after the DNC selected him as the Democratic Party’s nominee, any true progressive would likely agree with Klein.
