National Poll Average: Obama’s Lead Shrinks to 2.4

It’s startling to see that Obama’s post-convention bounce has almost evaporated according to the latest national polls in the general election race between him and McCain.

RealClearPolitics shows Obama with only a 2.4 spread over McCain in an average of national polls from 08/29 through 09/05.

    Since day one, the 2008 presidential election has been seen as an inevitable win for the Democrats. Unfortunately, Barack Obama has been unable to maintain a consistent lead over McCain; most days - before and after the convention -the race has been a dead heat.

  3. I don't agree (at all) that this is a "sure thing" for the Democrats. The 2004 election showed that about half of the country would rather have a neo-fascist in the White House than a Democrat. They don't care how many Iraqis are killed in an illegal war. They just want gas for their SUV and they're not concerned about the truth of how it gets in there. In fact, I believe that this election is a sure win for McCain unless Obama can work a miracle. Sad but true, IMHO.
